Centrally located less than 30 miles from Dallas, Flower Mound offers a family-oriented suburban getaway for many. The growing city has quick and easy access to Dallas, Fort Worth, Grapevine Lake and the DFW International Airport. Flower Mound prides itself on maintaining a small-town atmosphere amongst a growing economic environment. Flower Mound students are served by Lewisville ISD, a technologically integrated school district serving over 53,000 students. Amongst many other accolades, Flower Mound was given the prestigious awards of ‘Safest City in Texas’ and ‘Best City for Families’ in 2017.  

 

Entertainment in Flower Mound, TX 

 

Being the family-oriented city that it is, Flower Mound offers a wide array of entertainment for all ages. There are a variety of weekly story times and activities at the Flower Mound Public Library for children. Local restaurants, group exercise gyms, local bars and beautiful parks offer entertainment for adults, children, and families. Being on the border of Grapevine Lake, Flower Mound offers wonderful water adventures including fishing and boating. 

 

History of Flower Mound, TX 

 

Shortly after Denton County formed in 1846, Flower Mound Presbyterian Church was founded and thus began the city of Flower Mound. In 1952, construction on Grapevine Lake began, creating one of the biggest recreational areas in the community. By 1981, the first High School in Flower Mound was founded -  Marcus High School. Today, Flower Mound has remained a community with a small-town feel, all while growing and becoming the ‘Best City for Families’. New Fire Stations, restaurants, and parks continue to add entertainment and community to the beautiful city.
